Bardwell & McAlister
Bardwell & McAlister has been in the business of
manufacturing motion picture lighting and production equipment since
1926. Although the company has changed hands several times
throughout the years B & M has always maintained the respect of
professional filmmakers, providing television and major motion
picture studios with quality products and services. During the 1940s
B & M had over 200 employees in five separate plants here in
southern California and published it’s own in house news paper
called the Spotlight. B &M dedicated three of those facilities to
producing bomb loaders for the war effort based upon the design of
their camera dolly.
Raymond Wolffe owner of Pyramid Films since 1987 purchased B & M in
1999 with a vision of restoring the company to more than it’s former
glory by redesigning the product line to be the leader in energy
efficient lighting products for the 21st century. With the help of
Electronic Theatre Controls and their breakthrough HPL lighting
design, Ray signed a licensing agreement with ETC to exclusively use
their already great technology and put it into practice in the Mac
Tech HPL Lighting products. The new Mac Tech HPL line of fixtures
produced by B & M reduce power consumption up to 44% while at the
same time exceeding the output and quality of light of our
competitors standard par and conventional space light systems. What
if I told you I could save you 44% on your power bill. To borrow a
phase, it’s an inconvenient truth, at least for our competitors, our
lights are not only more efficient but they are constructed of
aircraft aluminum and are half the weight. That means safety as well
as efficiency. |
